DAN HODGSON

Founding Pastor

Dan and Barb are graduates of Westmont College in Santa Barbara ’72 and ’73. Dan completed the Master of Divinity degree at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, Boston,’77. They were involved in street and coffeehouse ministry during the Jesus Movement in the 70’s, 5 years in college student ministry West and East Coast, and 7 years pastoring a Japanese Congregational Church in Santa Barbara before planting the Vineyard in Oct ’84 - which has taken them to global connections from the Hopi in Arizona, to vibrant indigenous church planting movements in Central Africa.  Barbara has a private bookkeeping business, administrates a non-profit organization Americans for a Just Peace in the Middle East, and is a gifted Bible Teacher. They have three adult children and two grandchildren - who they love spending time with - whether traveling by car, or Dan on his Harley to their kids in Oakland or L.A. - or cross country road trips to family and friends.  Snowboarding at Mammoth is a family favorite.     

MARTY REITZIN

Associate Pastor

Marty and Elyse are graduates of Westmont College in Santa Barbara ’75 and’76. Marty completed the Master of Divinity degree at Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, ’79. He served on the staff of Jews for Jesus, traveling and speaking across the country. Both Marty and Elyse have developed and operated their own successful private businesses. Marty joined our staff full-time in December ’85. Elyse works in lead sales for her son Jared's rapidly growing company Mobile Storm. Marty Directs The Goleta Valley Healing Rooms, and oversees our Children's Ministry among many other duties.  Their two adult sons, Jared, and Jacob – are both married, and each have added beautiful grand daughters to the family - the joy of Nana and Papa's lives.  International adventures and outdoor quests like a bicycle tour thru France, or walking and playing on the beach with their Aussie help keep them young.

JANIS CARLSON

Administrator

Janis is a Santa Barbara native, and expertly oversees our office, bookkeeping (certified in non-profit management), computer data bases, communications, and publications. She has owned and operated her own businesses, and currently maintains a private part-time bookkeeping business. She oversees our Nursery Ministry, and keeps us functioning smoothly as a church. She has two grown children – Nick who is married to Teri with little daughter Jacklyn, and Diana – married to Joshua Nunez with daughter Shiloh.

LISELLE WILSNAGH

Worship Leader & Youth Leader

Liselle Wilsnagh hails from Cape Town, South Africa by way of the Southwest London Vineyard where she served from 1998 till her arrival here in 2009.  Liselle is in the U.S. as a "missionary" raising her own support, serving us in a variety of capacities including worship, ministry with young adults and youth. Liselle works alongside Christian Surfers International as the ASP Women's World Tour Chaplain--working with the women's Pro Surf Tour on their annual global competition circuit.  You can learn more about her at www.liselle.co.uk.
