What We Believe

The Vineyard is an international family distinguished by worship and compassion, gathering to celebrate and enjoy the Living God in contemporary, historic, and creative forms. We are Hungry to receive His heart for each other and those around us - to heal the sick, restore the broken and make us whole!

At GoVineyard, we are a family with a passion for:

• His Presence – Intimacy and freedom in Him
• His Word – The whole counsel of God
• His Works – Healing of body, soul, and spirit
• His World – The Gospel of the Kingdom to all

In an expression that is:

• Faithful to historic, Biblically orthodox Christian Faith
• Real, honest and authentic
• Contemporary, culturally current, relevant, alive, and fun!
• Comfortable (i.e. Come as you are!)

We are people like you who have been touched by the mercy and power of Jesus Christ "who has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and its ruler, Satan" and drawn us into the Kingdom of God. Our desire is to know Him and follow Him as He restores His church to its intended stature, gathers all of His children in this generation, and extends His reign into every facet of creation. We do this through:

PRAYER: Ernest communion with God alone and together, through which His desires to save and heal are released and extended, and Satan's desires to blind and destroy are bound and defeated. The most urgent endeavor in which we engage, calling for our best energy and keenest attention. (2 Chronicles 7:14; Luke11:1-13)

WORSHIP: The wonder and freedom of intimacy with God. By the leading of His Holy Spirit, offering to God all the expressions of our hearts, bodies, voices and lives - and receiving from Him all of His gifts and expressions to us described in the scripture. (1 Corinthians 12-14; Psalms 100, 150)

THE BIBLE: The only infallible revelation of God and His will, perfectly embodied by Jesus. We study it to do it. We want to experience and obey the fullness of the God who is revealed there. (Matthew 4:4, 5:17-18, 24:35; John 1)

FAMILY: From the brokenness of human family, God is gathering His family, creating a context of truthfulness, love, and fun - that facilitates healing and growth. We actively encourage individual relationships and small groups as a means to that end. We believe each one is called to serve the needs of the family as enabled by God. (Ephesians 2:17-22; 1 Peter 2:9-10, 4:7-11)

OUTREACH: Apart from the forgiveness and re-union provided through Jesus, we experience the pain of separation from God in this life, and face eternal separation after this life. As Jesus has rescued us, He now sends us empowered by His love and the Holy Spirit to extend His invitation to all. (John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:20)

HEALING: Jesus brought healing to every dimension of life -- spiritual, emotional, physical, social, and environmental. As He heals us, He enlists us to extend that healing by the wisdom and power of His Holy Spirit, sharing our time, resources, and influence as He directs on behalf of the sick, needy, oppressed, and the environment. (John 14:12; 1 John 3:17-18)

TRAINING: As Jesus trained His disciples to speak His word and do His works, we are commissioned to do the same. The role of leadership is to equip the members for life and ministry, encouraging the development of their gifts and callings to help those inside and outside the Church realize their full potential. (Ephesians 4:7-16)

SENDING: We are called to participate as God directs in the renewal of the church, planting new churches, and sending those called to extend the Kingdom at home and around the world. We are called to give faithfully and sacrificially of our lives and resources at home or wherever God calls us. (Matthew 28:18-20; James 5:1-6)
